24-inch Copper-Beryllium Alloy, Spark-Proof, High-Load, Reversible Chain Pipe Description
Beryllium copper (BeCu), also known as Copper-Beryllium and Beryllium bronze, is a copper alloy containing 0.5 to 3% beryllium and occasionally other alloying elements. Beryllium copper offers high strength with non-magnetic and spark-suppressing properties. It is used in tools designed for hazardous environments, musical instruments, precision measuring equipment, bearings and space applications.
Beryllium copper (BeCu) is a ductile, weldable and machinable alloy. It can be heat treated to improve its strength, durability and electrical conductivity. Beryllium copper achieves the highest strength (up to 1 400 MPa) of all copper alloys and is utilised for low-current contacts in batteries and electrical connectors.
Beryllium copper (BeCu) is employed in measurement tools during directional drilling (MWD) in the directional drilling industry. A non-magnetic alloy is required given that magnetometers record the field strength data received by the tool.
Because Beryllium copper (BeCu) is spark-suppressing, physically tough and non-magnetic, it is used to manufacture tools that can be safely employed in environments containing explosive fumes and gases.
