506HN Catalyst for Deoxygenation Description

506HN is a catalyst for deoxygenation and belongs to the family of precious metal oxide systems utilised for deoxygenation. It is primarily employed in chemical adsorption deoxygenation for the purification of nitrogen, inert gases, and other mixed gas streams.

Usage Instructions

• Activation prior to use

Place the deoxygenation catalyst into the reactor and thoroughly purge the system with inert gas to remove air. Introduce pure nitrogen or other inert gases with a space velocity of 150-300 h^-1 while heating the reactor. Gradually heat the deoxygenation medium to a temperature between 180-250 °C. For industrial processes, maintain the temperature for a suitable period to ensure thermal equilibrium in the column.

For industrial use, a nitrogen-hydrogen mixture with a hydrogen content of 10-20% and a space velocity of 150-300 h^-1 should be employed. For laboratory-scale applications, pure hydrogen can be used for activation and regeneration. Due to heating and the introduction of hydrogen, water vapour will be expelled from the venting outlet. The activation process occurs layer by layer along the direction of the airflow. Once the activated layer moves from one end to the other and no water vapour exits the exhaust, activation is nearly complete. Turn off the hydrogen and keep the nitrogen flowing. The system can then be properly purged and is immediately ready for use at this temperature, or the temperature can be reduced for sealing for storage.

• Deoxygenation Cleaning

After activation, the deoxygenation device is ready for use. Introduce the gas to be purified, and the deoxygenation device will commence the deoxygenation process.

• Regeneration of the Deoxygenation Medium

Once the deoxygenation medium is saturated with oxygen, it must be regenerated. Follow the activation procedure described above for regeneration.

Note:

Activated or regenerated deoxygenation media must not be exposed to air or large quantities of oxygen as this may shorten the lifespan of the deoxygenation medium.
