Description of AISI 4140 Alloy Steel Round Bar
AISI 4140 exhibits high ductility and can be formed using conventional techniques when annealed. Due to its increased toughness compared to other unalloyed steels, it requires higher pressure or force for forming. AISI 4140 is utilised in applications that require greater toughness and wear resistance than lower‐carbon grades. Typical applications include scrapers, retaining blocks, mould bases and support tools.
