Hafnium-Kristallbarren Description
Hafnium-Kristallbarren are produced from a highly pure form of Hafnium. They exhibit nearly identical chemical properties to Zirconium, including corrosion resistance. Hafnium is rare and has a greater density than Zirconium; consequently, methods have been developed to separate the elements by density.
Hafnium-Kristallbarren have a reflective surface and are sometimes acquired as elemental collections. The light blue colour distinguishes Hafnium-Kristallbarren from Zirconium-Kristallbarren.
Hafnium-Kristallbarren Applications
- Hafniumkristallbarren have the capacity to capture neutrons. This property makes them suitable for use in control rods in nuclear reactors. The nuclear industry utilises roughly 50% of the annual Hf production.
- Hafnium is also utilised as an alloying addition, and Hafnium-Kristallbarren are the primary source for highly pure Hafnium.
- Hafnium-Kristallbarren are used as raw material for highly pure Hafnium wires and Hafnium-Sputtertargets.
- Hafnium wires and other Hf components are employed in plasma cutting owing to their ability to emit electrons into the air.
- Highly pure Hafnium wires demonstrate increased durability. Test data indicate a 15% increase in lifespan compared to wires produced with lower purity materials.
Hafnium-Kristallbarren Packaging
Our Hafnium-Kristallbarren are maintained under controlled conditions during storage and transit to preserve the material’s initial quality.
