Description of Polypropylene Honeycomb
The honeycomb is a low-density material used as a shear-bearing core in lightweight sandwich constructions. The airspace between the composite panels is divided into many closed cells by the honeycomb, thereby restricting air movement and reducing the transfer of heat and sound. Consequently, the panel is suitable for thermal insulation, heat retention and sound insulation. When used in an adhesive-bonded composite sandwich board, the high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance allow its application in doors, floors, furniture, kitchen and sanitary modules, internal partitions and energy absorbers.
