Incoloy 800 (Alloy 800, UNS N08800) Bar/Rod Description:

The Incoloy alloy is a series of high‐performance alloys produced by Special Metals Corporation. They are nickel–iron–chromium alloys used in applications requiring high resistance to corrosion and high temperature strength. Incoloy alloys are comparable to the Inconel alloys; however, differences in composition lead to variations in their applications.
Alloy 800 is a widely used construction material for equipment that must be resistant to corrosion, exhibit high strength or withstand oxidation, carburisation and other detrimental effects of high-temperature exposure. The chromium in the alloy provides oxidation and corrosion resistance. The high nickel content results in an austenitic structure, thereby rendering the alloy ductile. Nickel also contributes to resistance against scale formation, general corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. The iron content ensures resistance against internal oxidation.

Incoloy 800 (Alloy 800, UNS N08800) Bar/Rod Applications:

• Vapour/hydrocarbon reforming for components such as pigtails, collectors, distributors, transfer pipes, catalyst tubes and quench-system tubes
  - Ethylene pyrolysis tubes in convection and radiation sections, which resist carburisation and exhibit satisfactory mechanical properties
  - Ethylene dichloride cracking tubes that resist carburisation and dry hydrogen chloride and chlorine components; for example, heat exchangers and piping systems in coal processing facilities
  - Tubes for steam generators in helium cooling systems and high-temperature reactors, which provide high strength and resistance to helium and steam
