Lanthanum Hexaboride (LaB6) Tube Description
LaB6 tube is an inorganic chemical. With a melting point of 2 528 K, the LaB6 tube is a refractory ceramic material that is insoluble in water or hydrochloric acid and remains stable under vacuum conditions. Stoichiometric samples exhibit a distinct lilac-violet colour, whereas boron‐rich samples (exceeding the LaB6 stoichiometry) are blue. Ion bombardment alters the colour from violet to emerald green. The LaB6 tube functions as a superconductor with a transition temperature of 0.45 K.
