Lanthan(III)-chloride hydrate is used for the treatment of aquaria, water parks, domestic water supplies and aquatic environments in order to prevent algal growth. Lanthan, a rare earth metal, is applied to limit phosphate accumulation in water.

Lanthan(III)-chloride hydrate Applications and Uses
Lanthan(III)-chloride hydrate serves as a raw material for FCC catalysts and water treatment. Lanthan-rich lanthanide compounds have been utilised extensively in FCC catalyst cracking reactions, specifically for the production of gasoline with high octane ratings from heavy crude oil. Phosphate precipitation from solutions is one application. Lanthan(III)-chloride hydrate is also utilised in biochemical research to block the activity of divalent cation channels, primarily calcium channels. When doped with cerium, it is used as a scintillation material.

Packaging: 1) 25 kg net weight per bag, with an inner liner of dual-layer plastic bags and an outer package using a drum (plastic/cardboard/steel), woven bag or kraft bag; 2) 1 000 kg net weight on a plastic or wooden pallet.
