Rhodium compounds and catalysts exhibit significant catalytic activity, selectivity and an extended operational lifespan. They are employed in the manufacture of aldehydes and acetic acid, in the treatment of automotive exhaust emissions, in the oxidation of ammonia during nitric acid production, in the organic synthesis of plastics, cellulosic fibres, pharmaceuticals and pesticides, and in fuel cell electrodes.
