Silicon Nitride Nozzles and Covers Description
Due to its steady performance at elevated temperatures, Si3N4 is a commonly used ceramic material in the metallurgical industry. Its microstructure provides a high tolerance to temperature fluctuations. Si3N4 exhibits measurable creep and oxidation resistance, and its low thermal conductivity with high wear resistance meet industrial requirements.
The silicon nitride nozzles and covers offer oxidation resistance, high temperature endurance and reduced sputter deposition, thereby potentially extending the service life of welded components.
There are five production methods for silicon nitride, including SRBSN, GPSN, HPSN, HIP-SN and RBSN, which lead to differences in applications and feedstock. Among these methods, GPSN is most frequently used for manufacturing Si3N4 components.
