Silicon Metal (Si-Metal) – Description
Silicon Metal is a metalloid that exhibits both metallic and non-metallic properties. It is chemically stable, insoluble in water and acids, and converts to silicates in hot, alkaline solutions. Pure silicon forms dark grey, lustrous crystals and demonstrates high thermal conductivity with low electrical conductivity. In aluminium alloys, it increases strength and reduces weight.
