Nickel-Titanium (Nitinol) Alloy Powder (NiTi) is characterised by a controllable composition, high sphericity, good flowability, low oxygen content, few satellite particles, and a fully dense particle interior. Nitinol is a shape memory alloy with advantages including shape memory effect, superelasticity, corrosion resistance, toxicity resistance, gentle orthodontic force, and good shock absorption properties. It is widely used in biomedicine, aerospace, national defence, and other fields.
Superelasticity is closely related to the shape memory effect. The main difference is the environmental temperature. Nitinol exhibits superelasticity when the environmental temperature is above the transition temperature. Below the transformation temperature, it demonstrates a shape memory effect.
