Wolfram Carbide/Nickel Powder (WC/Ni Powder) is utilised for thermal surface treatments owing to its high wear resistance, complete corrosion resistance and high-temperature tolerance. WC/Ni Powder is a metal–ceramic (Cermet) composite material that is applied as a wear- and corrosion-resistant coating at elevated temperatures.

Wolfram Carbide/Nickel Powder (WC/Ni Powder) Applications
- Cutting Tools: WC/Ni Powder is used in the fabrication of cutting tools such as drill bits, solid carbide end mills and indexable inserts. Its high hardness and wear resistance enable machining of hard materials such as steel, cast iron and composites.
- Wear Parts: The powder is employed in the manufacture of wear-resistant components such as nozzles, seals and bearings. The combination of tungsten carbide and nickel provides resistance to abrasion, erosion and surface fatigue.
- Electrical Contacts: Owing to its favourable electrical conductivity and high-temperature tolerance, WC/Ni Powder is used in the production of electrical contacts. It finds application in sectors including electronics, automotive and power distribution.
- Surface Coatings: The powder is applied in thermal spray coating processes to impart wear and corrosion resistance to surfaces. It is utilised in the aerospace, oil and gas as well as chemical processing industries.
