Uncoated Indexable Insert for Non-Ferrous Materials AW100K Description
The uncoated indexable insert for non-ferrous materials AW100K is a new grade of uncoated carbide that incorporates a novel chipbreaker geometry. The chipbreaker, designated as NC2, is an indexable insert with a positive geometry; its chipbreaker design is optimised for non-ferrous materials. It features a high positive chip angle, which minimises chip buildup when machining aluminium and enables an efficient, smooth cut at lower machining loads. In addition, the top surface is polished, thereby extending tool life and reducing chip buildup. The cutting edge is precision-ground and is suitable for shallow depths of cut while maintaining dimensional accuracy. This grade, AW100K, exhibits high hardness, excellent wear resistance and adequate toughness. It is recommended for machining aluminium.
