Description of Monel 400 Bar/Rod
Monel 400 is a ductile nickel-copper alloy that is hardened by cold working.
This alloy exhibits a low corrosion rate, acceptable weldability and high strength. It retains effective mechanical properties at sub-zero temperatures and can be employed at temperatures up to 538°C. It is particularly resistant to hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid, provided that it is adequately vented.
Monel 400 exhibits a low corrosion rate in flowing sea water, and is therefore widely utilised within marine applications.
