Description of Monel 400 Plate/Sheet
Monel 400 is a ductile nickel-copper alloy that is hardened by cold forming.
This alloy exhibits properties such as good corrosion resistance, good weldability and high strength. It retains satisfactory mechanical characteristics at subzero temperatures and can be employed at temperatures up to 538°C. It is particularly resistant to hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid when properly vented.
Monel 400 shows a low corrosion rate in flowing sea water. Consequently, it is commonly utilised in the shipping industry.
