AlN Custom Machined Part Description
Aluminium nitride, AlN, is a light grey or white ceramic material with a density of 3.26 g/cm³. Its high thermal conductivity and electrical insulation have led to its use in the microelectronics industry. Surface oxidation occurs in air at room temperature; however, the resulting aluminium oxide film protects the material up to 1 370 °C. Metallisation techniques enable the use of aluminium nitride in electronic applications alongside aluminium oxide and beryllium oxide.
