Description of the Mixed Metal Oxide Titanium Band Anode
Mixed metal oxide (MMO) anodes, also known as dimensionally stable anodes, are a type of protective anode used for impressed current systems. They consist of rare earth oxides applied to a titanium substrate. The MMO coating exhibits a low consumption rate; consequently, the metal dimensions remain unchanged throughout the anode’s service life, thereby ensuring consistently low electrical resistance. These anodes are employed in environments such as seawater, brackish water, fresh water, carbon backfill and concrete.

Advantages
- High resistance under conditions influenced by both oxygen and chlorine
- Various product compositions available for specified applications
- Consistent performance in acidic media
- Proven operational longevity
