Description of the Mixed Metal Oxide Titanium Wire Anode
Mixed metal oxide anodes (MMO anodes), also known as dimensionally stable anodes, are a type of protective anode used in impressed current systems. They consist of a layer of rare-earth oxide applied onto a titanium substrate. The MMO coating exhibits a low consumption rate, thereby maintaining constant metal dimensions throughout the anode’s service life, which results in an anode that consistently displays low resistance. It is typically employed in environments such as seawater, brackish water, fresh water, carbon backfill, and concrete.

Advantages
- Demonstrates high resistance when exposed to conditions influenced by both oxygen and chlorine
- Product compositions are available to suit different applications
- Provides effective resistance in acidic media
- Designed for an extended operational lifespan
