Introduction This study examines a series of cases involving patients who received unauthorised injections of industrial liquid silicone. Conducted retrospectively, the analysis covers patient records from September 2003 to December 2010, focusing on demographics, injection details, clinical manifestations, complications, treatments, and outcomes. Initial manifestations appeared within 30 days post-injection, while later manifestations occurred thereafter. Among 12 patients, predominantly male and transgender, injected volumes ranged from 5ml to 2000ml. Common injection sites were thighs and buttocks. Eight cases exhibited early inflammation or infection, requiring surgical debridement in five instances. Three patients with breast injections underwent adenomastectomy, with one fatality due to septic shock. The findings strongly advise against using industrial silicone for body contouring due to severe risks, including death.
