Introduction The study involved the synthesis and structural analysis of seven N,N'-palladium(II) chloride complexes, one N,N'-palladium(II) acetate complex, and two platinum(II) chloride N,N'-complexes, all derived from 2,4-cis-azetidines. These complexes were characterised using single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. Furthermore, computational analyses were performed to assess the steric volume (%Vbur) of these complexes. Additionally, a novel CNN' metallocyclic complex was synthesised via oxidative addition of palladium(0) to an ortho-bromo 2,4-cis-disubstituted azetidine, revealing a slightly pyramidalised metal-ligand orientation in its crystal structure.
