Description of AISI 4140 Alloy Flat Steel
AISI 4140 exhibits high ductility and can be reshaped using conventional techniques in the annealed state. Given that its toughness exceeds that of unalloyed steels, a higher force is required for its forming. AISI 4140 is used in applications where greater toughness and improved wear resistance are needed compared with lower carbon grades. Standard applications include scrapers, clamping blocks, forming beds and support tools.
