Description of AISI 4140 Alloy Steel Hex Bar
AISI 4140 alloy steel exhibits considerable ductility and may be formed using conventional techniques following annealing. Given that its toughness is greater than that of other unalloyed steels, a higher pressure or force is required for forming. AISI 4140 is employed in various applications where higher toughness and wear resistance compared with lower carbon grades are necessary. Typical applications include scraper blades, retaining blocks, forming beds and support tools.
