Description of H13 Tool Steel Plates
H13 tool steel is utilised for the manufacture of forging dies designed for high‐impact loading, warm flow pressing dies, precision forging dies and die-casting moulds for aluminium, copper and their alloys. The material has machining and polishing properties that meet industry standards, a toughness and plasticity that have been measured against defined parameters, wear resistance at elevated temperatures, quantifiable overall hardenability, and high-temperature strength with thermal fatigue resistance. In addition, minor distortion is observed during heat treatment, and the formation of iron oxide deposits during air quenching remains low.
