Non-ferrous metallised plates are composite materials. They consist of bonded layers of non-ferrous metals. Typically, these plates use a core of another metal such as steel or aluminium. A layer of non-ferrous metal, for example copper, brass or bronze, is applied on one or both sides.

The non-ferrous metal layer provides corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and visual appeal. The core metal delivers strength and stability. These layers are joined by methods such as hot rolling, explosive bonding or diffusion bonding.
