Tantal-Wolfram (Ta10W) Alloy Products Description
Tantal-Wolfram (TaW) has defined mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance. It is a high-strength metal alloy with a high melting point, elevated tensile strength and notable corrosion resistance. The tantalum alloys from SAM are produced by powder metallurgy processes. In these processes, tantalum powder is blended with alloying elements and filled into moulds, pressed under pressures up to 2 000 bar and then sintered. The Ta10W alloy (90% tantalum, 10% tungsten) is one of the widely used alloys. Consequently, our Ta10W alloy is particularly suitable for heat exchangers and heating components used in chemical apparatus manufacturing.
We also supply high-purity spherical TaW powder (TA2.5W), Tantal-Wolfram (Ta2.5W) alloy powder, spherical TaW powder (TA7.5W), and spherical TaW powder (TA10W).
Tantal-Wolfram (Ta10W) Alloy Products Applications
1. Aerospace: Tantal-Wolfram alloy products are used in the aerospace industry for the manufacture of high-temperature components and structural materials due to their high melting point, hardness and thermal stability. They are employed in the production of nozzles, combustion chambers, turbine blades and other parts for rocket engines that must operate under extreme temperatures and pressures.
2. Military and Defence: In the military and defence sector, Tantal-Wolfram alloys are employed for their corrosion and wear resistance. They are used in the manufacture of rockets, artillery projectiles, armour-piercing projectiles and other weapon systems. Furthermore, they are utilised in the production of key components for military communications devices, radar systems and navigation systems.
3. Electronics: Tantal-Wolfram alloys exhibit high electrical and thermal conductivity. They are applied in the production of electronic components such as capacitors, resistors and chokes, as well as serving as substrate materials in the fabrication of integrated circuits and semiconductor devices.
4. Medical Sector: Tantal-Wolfram alloys are used in the medical field because of their biocompatibility and corrosion resistance. They are employed in the manufacture of medical devices such as scalpels, orthopaedic implants and dental materials. Additionally, Tantal-Wolfram alloys are used in the production of radiation protection materials for medical applications.
5. Industrial Manufacturing: In industrial manufacturing, Tantal-Wolfram alloys are used for the production of cutting tools, dies and wear-resistant components. Their use can increase processing efficiency, improve product quality and reduce production costs.
