Wear-Resistant Ceramic Coating Description

A wear-resistant ceramic coating is a protective layer or coating made from ceramic materials, which is applied to the surface of an object to enhance its wear and abrasion resistance. This type of coating aims to form a durable and protective barrier against friction, erosion, and other forms of mechanical damage.

Description of the Wear-Resistant Ceramic Coating

• High Mechanical Strength and Rigidity.

Wear-resistant ceramic coatings primarily consist of wear-resistant aggregates and binder systems. The material's strength is 150 MPa, surpassing that of standard concrete and refractory cast products. It mainly comprises ionic compounds and some synthetic covalent compounds. The ionic bonds are strongly connected, resulting in high strength and rigidity, allowing the material to effectively withstand shock and shear stresses. Consequently, the combined system demonstrates high strength due to the implementation of measures to reinforce the bonds and a special treatment to create a chemical bond.

• Excellent Toughness and Impact Resistance.

By using non-oriented steel fibres and directional meshes as reinforcement measures, toughness is further enhanced by the bonding. Therefore, it exhibits high fracture toughness and resilience, effectively preventing damage and detachment from impacts. Given that ionic and covalent bonds are both strong, low temperatures or high vibrational frequencies at room temperature have minimal effects on the material.

• Good Material Properties.

Through double reinforcement, the material properties have been effectively improved. The low expansion coefficient of the ceramic material ensures stable volume, preventing crack formation. The performance is satisfactory, and the structure is monolithic, with no seams occurring, further enhancing integrity.

• Good Environmental Compatibility.

The use of acid- and alkali-resistant plastics ensures that the coating does not react with slag. Additionally, this material is typically high-temperature plastic, resulting in well-developed crystals and a complete structure. The ambient temperature has little impact on the material.

• No Environmental Pollution.

The main components are silicate and aluminium oxide, which are similar to the composition of the earth's crust. They do not cause soil degradation or pollution from heavy metal ions and have no adverse effects on the environment.
