Boron Nitride Seal / Gasket (BN Seal / Gasket) Description
Boron nitride, also known as BN, hexagonal boron nitride (H-BN) and hot‐pressed boron nitride, is a self‐lubricating ceramic that withstands elevated temperatures and maintains its lubricating properties in a high‐vacuum environment.
The BN seals produced by SAM are fabricated from hot‐pressed boron nitride blanks. Hexagonal boron nitride (H-BN) exhibits mechanical behaviour comparable to graphite; however, it offers high electrical resistivity.
