Hot-Pressed Boron Nitride Ring (BN-Ring) Description:
Boron Nitride, also designated as BN, hexagonal boron nitride (H-BN) and hot-pressed boron nitride, is a self-lubricating ceramic material that withstands elevated temperatures and retains its lubrication properties in a high-vacuum environment. The Boron Nitride Ring (BN-Ring) is manufactured from a hot-pressed boron nitride blank. Hexagonal boron nitride (H-BN) exhibits mechanical behaviour comparable to graphite while offering high electrical resistivity. HBN ceramics provide a defined combination of chemical, electrical, mechanical and thermal properties.

Hot-Pressed Boron Nitride Ring (BN-Ring) Applications
The hot-pressed boron nitride ring (BN-Ring) manufactured by Stanford Advanced Materials withstands elevated temperatures in a high-vacuum environment. It exhibits corrosion resistance and high electrical resistivity. Consequently, this ceramic product is suitable for several industrial applications, including:
- Usage in nozzles for non-ferrous metals in metallurgy
- Usage as insulators in high-temperature furnaces
- Usage as braking rings in horizontal casting machines
- Feedthroughs for high-voltage installations
- Usage in boron nitride components for ion injection apparatus
Hot-Pressed Boron Nitride Ring (BN-Ring) Packaging
Hot-pressed boron nitride rings (BN-Rings) from SAM are handled with care to minimise damage during storage and transport, thereby preserving the original product quality.
