Incoloy 825 (Legierung 825, UNS N08825) Wire Description:
The Incoloy alloy family comprises nickel–iron–chromium alloys manufactured by Special Metals Corporation. They are employed in applications that require high corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. Incoloy alloys have a distinct composition compared to Inconel alloys, which leads to differences in their applications. The Alloy 825 variant is a nickel–iron–chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. Its chemical composition offers resistance against numerous corrosive environments. The nickel content is adequate to provide resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. The combination of nickel with molybdenum and copper yields resistance to reducing environments such as sulphuric acid and phosphoric acid. Molybdenum enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Chromium renders resistance to various oxidising agents including nitric acid, nitrates and oxidising salts. Titanium stabilises the alloy when subjected to appropriate heat treatment, thereby mitigating intergranular corrosion.
Other Trade Names: Alloy 825, Nickelvac 825, Nicrofer 4241
