Incoloy 825 (Alloy 825, UNS N08825) Flange Description:
The Incoloy alloy series is produced by Special Metals Corporation. It comprises nickel–iron–chromium alloys used in applications that demand high corrosion resistance and elevated temperature strength. The chemical composition of Incoloy alloys differs from that of Inconel alloys, thereby resulting in distinct application parameters. Alloy 825 is a nickel–iron–chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. Its chemical composition offers resistance against numerous corrosive environments. The nickel content is adequate to mitigate chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. Nickel combined with molybdenum and copper provides resistance in reducing environments, such as sulphuric and phosphoric acids. Molybdenum contributes to resistance against pitting and crevice corrosion. Chromium imparts resistance to oxidising agents including nitric acid, nitrates and oxidising salts. Titanium stabilises the alloy during heat treatment to prevent sensitisation to intergranular corrosion.
Other Trade Names: Alloy 825, Nickelvac 825, Nicrofer 4241
