Incoloy 800 (Legierung 800, UNS N08800) Pipe Description:
The Incoloy alloy series comprises nickel–iron–chromium alloys produced by Special Metals Corporation. They are used in applications that require high corrosion resistance and high temperature strength. The alloy composition differs from that of Inconel alloys, thereby resulting in differences in their applications.
Alloy 800 serves as a commonly used construction material for equipment that must exhibit corrosion resistance, high strength or resistance to oxidation, carburisation and other harmful effects under high temperature loads. The chromium present in the alloy ensures resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The high nickel content creates an austenitic structure, which renders the alloy ductile. Nickel additionally contributes to resistance against scaling, general corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. The iron content contributes to resistance against internal oxidation.
Other Trade Names: Alloy 800, UNS N08800, Ferrochronin 800, Nickelvac 800, Nicrofer 3220, Werkstoff Nr. 1.4876

Incoloy 800 (Alloy 800, UNS N08800) Pipe Applications:
- Steam/hydrocarbon reforming for components such as pigtails, collectors, distributors, transfer pipes, catalyst tubes and quench-system pipes
- Ethylene pyrolysis tubes in convection and radiation sections, which exhibit resistance to carburisation and meet the specified mechanical properties
- Ethylene dichloride cracking tubes designed for resistance to carburisation and for withstanding dry hydrogen chloride and chlorine components, for example in heat exchangers and pipeline systems in coal processing plants
- Tubes for steam generators in helium coolant and high temperature reactor systems, which combine high strength with resistance against helium and steam
